According to sources, a three-vehicle accident that caused an SUV to roll over also injured a passenger riding in a different vehicle. Officers with the Sacramento Police Department reported that the incident happened on June 17 around 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Florin Road and 21st Street.
Investigators reported that the SUV was traveling on Florin Road heading west when a gold Acura attempted to turn left off of Florin onto 21st Street. The SUV then slammed into the Acura, and the force of the collision sent the SUV careening into a light pole and a Jeep that was stopped at the stop sign on the frontage road before the SUV turned over.
Officers suspect that the accident happened because of a combination of alcohol and speed. One driver was taken into custody from the accident scene. A passenger in the Acura was reportedly injured and transported to the hospital by emergency responders. The driver of the Jeep was apparently unhurt. The reports do not indicate which of the three involved drivers was arrested.
Car accidents may suddenly and unexpectedly change people’s lives. When people are injured in accidents that are caused by negligent drivers, the injured people may be left with permanent disabilities. They may suffer from a permanent loss of their ability to earn incomes and have mounting medical expenses and other bills caused by the collisions. People who are injured through no fault of their own way want to seek damages through personal injury civil lawsuits. By holding a negligent driver responsible, an injured plaintiff may be able to recover sufficient monetary compensation to cover these and other losses.
