One Killed and Another Injured in a Fatal Crash in Elk Grove

by | Nov 4, 2016 | Car Accidents

On Wednesday, November 4, 2016, a man was killed in a three-vehicle collision on Grant Line Road in Elk Grove, California (news source). The crash occurred at approximately 2:10 in the afternoon when a black Honda Civic pulled out of the driveway of a storage facility out into the path of a flatbed tow truck heading eastbound around the 9900 block of Grant Line Road.

Officer Christopher Trim said the tow truck struck the Honda Civic broadside and then struck a pickup truck that was westbound. The driver of the sedan was killed and the passenger of the vehicle was severely injured. Neither the driver or the passenger in the pickup truck was injured.

The driver of the black Honda Civic has been identified as the 24-year-old, David Brenden McDaniel of Elk Grove.

According to CHP Sergeant Sean Kent, “The tow truck was reportedly traveling at a safe rate of speed and, unfortunately, struck the driver’s side of the Honda as it pulled out.”

Nothing appeared to be obstructing the views of the Honda but unfortunately, devastating events took place and further investigation will need to take place to have a better understanding. Although the police are diligently working to put the pieces together, having legal representation at an early stage of a vehicle accident will help you in your case.
